(Above) New Pilgrims hosted the backpack table at the Skagit Project Homeless Connect event in 2014. Together New Pilgrims and the Seventh Day Adventist Church donated 250 backpacks, which were distributed to homeless adults. In 2016¬†Pilgrim volunteers gave 153 backpacks and 94 pairs of new socks to participants at the Skagit Project Homeless Connect. Thirty-seven of the backpacks and all socks were purchased with proceeds from Pilgrim’s booth at Shipwreck Day in Anacortes. The balance of the backpacks came from a generous donation from the Foresters.
